The BARD Campaign

BARD Campaign

The former MoD Royal Engineers camp at Long Marston on the Warwickshire / Worcestershire / Cotswolds border is currently one of the 'long-shortlisted' sites for the Government's controversial 'eco-town' programme.

The BARD Campaign was established to prevent the ruination of this beautiful, historic and popular location. A 6000+ home eco-town in this small corner of Stratford and Wychavon Districts would dwarf existing villages, swap local roads with traffic and ruin the much-cherished tourist town of Stratford-upon-Avon.  We also seek to remind town planners that there are other more suitable and sustainable areas for new housing - hence the BARD name: Better, Accessible and Responsible Development.
